Crushing it with Dixie® To Go

Managing a blog, work, and a full time coursework in college can be tough! Studying, keeping social, making sure you’re eating right, and getting enough sleep are all important. With everyone’s busy schedules, it’s important to take a step back and enjoy the things that matter. Embrace life’s simple joys with Dixie® To Go, the official cup for crushing it!

You know those days when you’d rather stay in bed all day, but know you have a mountain of a to-do list to accomplish? Today definitely felt like one of those days.

I’ve been doing some research on decision making, and I’ve found out (and noticed) that the less decisions you have to make, the better off you are, and the more energized you feel. To start things off, I try to plan what I’m wearing the night before, since that is one less decision I have to make in the morning!

After getting up and getting ready for the day, the next decision to make is breakfast. Typically, for me, breakfast consists of a protein bar, since it is easy to shove in my backpack before rushing to class on time!

Save time, money, and an extra decision by skipping your trip to the coffee shop and using Dixie® To Go!

As a college student, Dixie® to Go is convenient for quickly making a cup of coffee before starting your morning routine. Afterwards, simply grab your cup and go! Those extra pockets of time can be used for studying to ace your next test, getting a few extra winks of sleep, or spending a few extra minutes getting ready to help you crush your day.

The cups are insulated, keeping your hot drinks hot and your cold drinks go. There’s no washing or cleanup, allowing for more time to do what you love. The cups are also microwave safe, which is convenient for reheating it at work or during a classroom break.

Formerly known as PerfecTouch, Dixie® to Go cups are BPA free, an extra plus! The cups also have a leak-resistant lid that is great for busy mornings. So if you are on the clumsier side like I am, you don’t have to worry so much about spilling your drink everywhere.

I never wanted to plan anything. Every time I got behind on my work or missed an important date, I made excuses. Schedules and planners just didn’t work for me I’d proclaim, but really I just wasn’t used to using them. After wearing myself out trying to keep track of things in my head and on post-it notes, I decided I needed a better way.

That was years ago. Now, I plan out most everything including our homeschooling day. God has given me a limited amount of time and I want to use it wisely. Plus, it’s just easier and helps me get more done. For years, I used printable planners and excel worksheets. That’s why I’m so excited to show you how to make easy lesson plans online with Lessontrek.

I was sponsored by Lessontrek to review their homeschool lesson planning tool and am excited to share my experience as well as an awesome giveaway! All opinions are mine alone. For more information please read my full disclosure.

Why Plan Lessons?

Even though we have a relaxed homeschool schedule, I want my daughters to develop a healthy routine and get used to planning their day. That way they don’t run into the same problems I used to. By planning out our week, everyone knows what they should be doing that day and we never miss an important date.

You might not want to plan every detail, but it certainly helps meet goals and keep track of activities. Remember that lesson plans are to help you, not to be your master. Don’t think of it as the rule and get frustrated for not completing it. Think of it as a compass; it will help guide you in the right direction if you need it.

Why Lessontrek?

Lessontrek helps you plan lessons quickly and easily. You never have to worry about losing them, spilling something on them, or having to spend a lot of money to recover them from a broken computer. There are no papers to deal with if you don’t want to and it takes half the time to complete.

With Lessontrek, I simply map out my routine for the week and copy and paste that routine onto the whole year. Then, I fill out individual assignments for the month. I like to do it monthly that way I can adjust if my child is moving fast or if she needs extra time on a subject.

After I have everything scheduled. I can print it out as a guide for my eldest daughter. She feels independent being able to manage and check off her tasks each day. I also use it to plan learning activities for my 2 preschool aged children.

The tool has drag and drop features that makes it easier than any other tool to reschedule your week. It took me just minutes to learn how to use Lessontrek and plan out my first week. It is the most affordable planning tool on the market and you can try it for FREE with a trial account. Don’t wait to get started managing your time and getting more done with Lessontrek.

This quick hair style and DIY accessory tutorial was inspired by a sponsorship from Blueprint Social.

3 Hungry little birds wait outside my door every morning. Now that I’ve added a newborn to the mix I have even less time to get ready. That’s why I love wearing headbands. They make getting ready in the morning a snap.

The only problem with the headbands I had were their drab color. You could tell I had’t been shopping in a while. Since i Love to Create things on my own, I used Tulip Neon Products to add a pop of spring color to my old headbands and I even made a brand new one.

3 DIY Headbands = 3 Different Looks

Chevron Jersey Headband

To redo my old gray Jersey Headband, I used Tulip Neon Fabric Markers and some other simple supplies. After the print dried, I applied a second coat to get the brightest color possible.

I love the way it turned out. The print looks like I bought it that way! To get this look, I just teased the hair behind the headband and popped it up into a ponytail.

Neon Felt Paisley

You can do any shape you want, but I think paisleys and neon go together perfectly. For this, I used Tulip Dimensional Fabric Paint, black felt, and a thin plastic headband. You could also use black elastic and sew or hot glue the ends together.

To fasten the felt paisley to the band I simply cut another small piece of felt and sandwiched the headband in between the felt pieces with hot glue.

DIY Paisley Headwrap

To make my own headband design, I used the Dimensional Fabric Paint again. First, I measured from behind one ear to the other. Then on wax paper, I drew my design with pen on the non-waxy side leaving little holes on the ends to put elastic through. I flipped the wax paper over and traced my design with a thick coat of the fabric paint.

When I do this again, I’m going to try parchment paper because some of the wax paper stuck to my design when I was taking it off. After I removed my design, I tied thin elastic from one hole in the end of the band to the other.

I also received some Neon One Step Tie Dye Kit and can’t wait to create a Neon Head Wrap with it!
