Living in New England for the last ten years there is one thing that I miss the most about being in my home state of Texas…the sunshine. I love the sunshine! Yes, it does get a bit warmer than most people would like in Texas, but I love the heat. Yet, there is so much more to my love of sunshine than just the warmth it brings.
Sunshine can brighten up any day, whether it is grey outside or you’re feeling grey on the inside. Taking time to go outside and bask in the sunshine can brighten any mother’s spirit! The fresh air and sunshine can make all the difference in the world and turn a bad day around!
God made the sun to rule by day, He knew that we needed to be in the light. Living all of our lives indoors is not what God planned for us, He planned for us to spend time outside enjoying and taking care of the world that He created for us to live in! The sunshine allows us to see everything that God created and live in awe of His splendor!
As homeschool moms, we need to be diligent and ensure that both we and our children do not spend all day inside completing our homeschooling. We need to take advantage of the sunny days! Grab a backpack, stuff it full of books and head outside together! While our children get their schoolwork done, we can read, write or enjoy laying in the sunshine!
By spending time out in the sun, we will find that our moods are lifted, our outlook on life is improved and our stress has diminished! The sunshine truly is good for a mother’s soul, mind and body!
Spending time in the sunshine helps give us gain Vitamin D, which our body needs! While it isn’t the best source, it definitely does help! I know that I don’t get enough of the vitamins that my body needs, so if spending time in the sunshine helps give me some then lets head outside!
If I told you that on every day that was sunny I headed outside, I would be lying. The truth is that I struggle with depression, but it is for that reason that I know how important it to spend as much time in the sunshine as possible! I encourage you to spend as much time as possible in the sunshine, it can change your life!
