One of our favorite ways to encourage our kids to read is by giving them challenges and rewards! We like to reward our children with New Books 🙂 I keep a small collection in a ‘treasure chest’ and they get to pick 1 when they complete their reading challenges. Wow, I love the challenge and treasure box idea! My son would love a reading nook – maybe in our next house, when we move in a few months! I suspect that my boy would most enjoy nonfiction books about animals or space, but maybe history! We have the Usborne book on tanks (and tractors, and…) and he’s pretty fond of it.
