I was having a boy! After raising 2 girls for the past 4 years, I was a little intimidated. How different was it going to be? I imagined having to do a lot more running, disciplining, and rough housing. While there are slight differences, having a boy has been nothing but joyful.
One of the things that are exactly the same with all my children is that I can never find pants that fit. With the girls, I’ve given up on finding them a pair of jeans so you’ll see them rocking leggings everyday. With my son Colton, it’s not that easy.
I’ll be washing dishes or cooking dinner when I hear a little voice say, “Mama.” Looking down, I’ll ask, “Yes, what do you need Colton?” He’ll smile at me like he did something amazing and say, “Elp.” What’s wrong? His pants are at his ankles! Poor kid. I’m pulling up his pants constantly. I’ll roll them up at the waist because it’s okay for him to have high-waters at home.
Now when we go out, that is a different story. At church, I put him in the nursery and don’t want the poor ladies to have to deal with his pants the whole time. And how embarrassing, yet hilarious, it is at the park to have a little boy calling for you to help with his pants at his ankles.
Finally, I’ve found a solution that every little boy needs. Suspenders! These things keep pants up guaranteed! Top off the outfit with a bow-tie and you’ll never have to watch your kid when you go to a family get-together because nobody can resist a little boy in a bow tie and suspenders.
I’m so glad I came across The Baxter Boy bow tie shop. Kiley’s bow ties and suspenders are handcrafted, made of 100% cotton or 100% polyester fabric, and can be machine washed. The cutest patterns are available and she also takes custom orders! If you have little boys ages 0-10, this is a must have!

My son Colton is turning 2 years old soon! At this stage in his life, I only see slight differences between him and my girls. He definitely likes to make car noises and hit things more, but he is also very loving. If I stub my toe on a chair, he is the first one to run over and comfort me.
My greatest joy is seeing his little personality grow! He loves to dance and sing to bible songs. He’ll go outside and use his bat to hit anything he can without getting into trouble. Best of all, he loves his mama!
I can’t imagine living without my little boy. His smile melts my heart. But he won’t be little for very long. That’s why I treasure every moment and don’t let sagging pants get in the way!

Adorable! He is so beautiful! And the suspenders are a wonderful look!
My Mom raised 4 girls & 4 boys, and when it was all done just sighed and said “I don’t see any difference!” We could all be wild, and we could all be nurturing (thank goodness, because the boys have become very good daddies : )

He’s really growing up from that cute baby face I see in your sidebar. Although my son’s still teensy tiny, I can imagine pants sizing isn’t easy. I’m a big fan of leggings for my daughter too. Just wanted to say your photos are really cute, Janine!
