Thank you very much for posting these! It’s so difficult to find quality movies to watch with my kids. Sometimes movie night becomes stressful because we cant find much because I feel we have to sacrifice large portions of their innocence for the sake of entertainment. The Buttercream Gang was one of my absolute favorites growing up!! We were in the “Feature Films for Families” club from the time I was a preteen on, and there are SO many good ones there!

I remember loving Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when I was a child. But I also remember being super scared during the middle and end. It involves a child catcher, a cage, and children hiding underground. I showed my kids the beginning, but not the end! 😀

Yes, I remember that movie being pretty scary. We’ve done that with Old Yeller. Didn’t think our kids would think it was too scary and then we look over and our 4-yr-old has her hands over her eyes. She wouldn’t even let us pull them away for a little bit after we paused it and tried to comfort her. Oops! Now we now 🙂 Kids can be really sensitive to movies. They are so real to them.

Thanks for the list. I was running short of ideas. We watched, “The Never Ending Story” Saturday due to that very fact. The kids, 5 and 7, were a bit scared but they persevered after many assurances that it was all going to be okay. Wish I had your list at that time.
