I consider myself a pro at going out with lots of children in tow. But every once in a while, I’ll forget to put one of these things in my bag and it makes our trip painful. Whether you’re traveling across the country or to the grocery story, here are 10 things every Mom needs in her handbag.
This post contains an awesome giveaway below! For more information read my full disclosure.
10 Things EVERY Moms Need in their Bags
1. Bags
I like to bring plastic grocery or zip lock bags to put trash, diapers, or dirty clothes in. Zip locks are also great to store first aid supplies.
2. Tissues
There’s nothing worse than having little ones with runny noses and no tissues! Don’t get caught at the park without them. I made some pocket tissue holders to hide them in coat pockets, so they’re always some on hand.
3. Spare Keys
Oh the money I would have saved if I had always carried a spare key for the house and the car in my purse!
4. Important Phone Numbers
If you don’t have a phone charger in your car or are prone to losing your phone, make sure you have a paper copy of important numbers backup.
5. Snacks
I like to stash food that won’t spoil easily like nuts, jerky, and those little squeezable pouches of apple sauce. When I don’t have time to buy a snack, they are a lifesavers. Everyone is less grumpy with something to munch on.
6. Lotion and Chapstick
Don’t let cracked skin or lips keep put a damper in your day.
7. Water bottle
Dehydration can make you feel like you’re coming down with something. I LOVE this foldable water bottle from Vapur. It’s really helpful when you have to go through security at the airport. I keep one folded up in my purse to fill at a drinking fountain whenever I need it.
8. Wet Wipes
I always have these with me because I always have a kid in diapers. They are also perfect for muddy hands and dirty faces.
9. Band-aids/First Aid
Kids get hurt. All. The. Time. Having some antibiotic ointment and band-aids to soothe cuts will help prevent scarring and rotten moods.
10. Activities
With just a few items, you can entertain your children for hours. Bring things like mini note pads, crayons, party favors, or a small set of LEGOs. Store them in one of those zip lock bags you already have. Then, when you need to keep your children entertained, give them something new every 15-30 minutes for a complaint free wait.
