Teaching children about courage? Hum? Well, mostly I teach through example. I allow them to see my struggles and how I deal with them. Mostly, I teach them to stand firm on what they believe no matter what other people say. I think that’s the most courage of all. To stand firm in your beliefs. To not be swayed by others.

Other people (most I would guess not ill intentioned) will try to convince you to do something that you know isn’t right. They will do all kinds of things – including treating you badly, keeping things from you. It takes a lot of courage to be able to withstand the treatment.

I think the best way to teach is to allow them to see how you handle the situation. Do you run and hide, or do you stand firm – in a positive loving way?
