]]> I knew nothing about the history of Thanksgiving!  It wasn’t until I watched Kirk Cameron’s movie, Monumental that I realized how little I knew about who the Pilgrims were and what they went through.  Sure, in school we played games and did crafts about the holiday, but the real reason the Pilgrims celebrated was lost.

So what’s it all about?  Giving thanks to God.  That’s it – not belt buckles or indians, turkey or pumpkin pie.  Why is that all anyone can remember?

Don’t take my word for it, read President Lincoln’s Thanksgiving Proclamation where he talks about, “the ever watchful providence of Almighty God,” or you can also watch the movie, Monumental for free from Hulu below!
