Soft, colorful, and endless opportunities for imaginary play; Pom poms are an essential item if you have a busy toddler in the house.  My son can play with them for a whole hour and even his older sisters like to join in on the fun.  As they happily play with their ‘feast’, ‘bugs’, or ‘jewels’, I can get a lot done around the house.  Who knew such a simple activity would captivate my children for so long.  But, I didn’t come up with the activity on my own.

I had a little help from a new app called Knoala.  This is the perfect app for parents of young children.  Wether you’re waiting in the doctors office, taking a road trip, or just want to connect with your kids, Knoala offers access to hundreds of activity prompts for parents that require little to no set up.

When I first gave the pom poms to my toddler I didn’t expect that the activity would turn into an educational one.  My children started sorting, counting, and acting out different rolls with the pompoms.  It was a joy to watch them get along and explore while creating their own little world.

We all know how scary our first sick child can be.  It’s probably just a fever, right?  But what if…  Our mommy-minds envision the worst and then the next thing we know its 2 am and we’re racing to the ER.  False alarm!  We knew it, but it won’t stop us from worrying next time, because well, that’s what moms do best.

That’s exactly how I felt when my first daughter got a fever for the first time.  I felt helpless and unsure.  Squinting to read the dosing label, the last thing I wanted to do was to overdose my little baby girl.  There had to be a better way… and their is!

After having 2 more children, I’m a little more confident simply from experience.  But it would have been a lot easier had I know about this free dosing and health resource tool.  Now I have 24/7 access to information about common health concerns, and a dosing calculator that gives me the correct dosage every time!

After downloading the free Children’s Wellness App, I entered my children’s information and set up a privacy pin.

For some reason, my kids teethe until they are 2-years-old!  That means, they get fevers often.  If they are in a lot of pain and have a fever over 102 F I usually give them an infant fever reducer, but I’m not always sure how much to give.  The dosing calculator in this app gave me some very important information.

Although I was giving my son Infant TYLENOL® after talking with my doctor, I learned that I can give him Infant MOTRIN® without having to contact my doctor!  If your doctor uses the app too, you can receive the correct dosage directly from him through the app.

Included in the App is some very important information about treating fevers, common colds, ear infections, and when it’s time to call the doctor.

You can also keep track of your children’s vaccines, other medicines, and symptoms.  This would be perfect if you have an infant and want to make sure you are up to date on vaccines or if they have a symptom that you want to talk to your doctor about at their next check up.

I know that the worry wart in me won’t ever go away when it comes to my kids.  But now I am very confident about giving my children the right dose and when I should contact my doctor.
