I don't agree, but not just because of the typical reasons mentioned above. It builds a world of complacency. There becomes an assumption that the kids are where the tag says they are, therefore the teachers don't have to actually track the students. Technology has made people lazy and I can see a teacher losing a child and "blaming" it on the fact that the tracker didn't tell them that the child left. I say the parents should band together and all force an "involuntary transfer", then the school can figure out how to find the money to stay open.

Found you on the Mom's Monday Mingle. Hope you'll stop by this week: Veggie to Table Blog Hop

How on earth can this district afford tracking chips and the associated technology for this?! Where so many teachers are getting laid off and funding is so tight I don't see how this is justified financially let alone ethically.

This is a really sad story:( I cannot even express all my thoughts on the topic, because it is a bit baffling that a school district has actually done this to its children, treating them like livestock.

Noooo! This is CRAZY! Things have gone wrong long ago with parents who haven't taught kids to be responsible. It is not fair to kids who are well-behaved to wear a tracking device! Let kids reap their consequences - we don't live in a police state - yet!

Um. I'm not sure if I agree with that or not.. It seems like they should have used the money that they spent on the badges instead of the funding.
