My daughter loves maps and we use them to teach her about weather and different environments and what animals live in that habitat and where her favourite dinosaurs used to live. She is too young to understand much more than that, so our focus with maps/globes are: Who/what lives/d there? What kind of habitat is it? What is the weather like? Then we create sensory bins to show her what it would look like and use science experiments to describe the weather.

We have some maps on my son’s bedroom wall so we point out the states/countries. lso have soem geography apps on our family ipad which are great.

We haven’t started geography yet–we just finished kindergarten. I’m planning on starting a geography curriculum next year, though.

We do teach geography, but not in any organized fashion to my younger students. My sixth grader did the Runkle Geography curriculum this year. He learned a lot, but it was pretty challenging. I would love to win this set! Pick me!
