The reason I homeschool is to keep my children away from all the negative influences at such a young age. I really don’t think we should be sending children to college at 12. Let our kids be kids.

This college student was incredibly honest and humble to ask that question.
In my opinion, the answer is probably a little of both…the Hardings are probably exceptional and our educational system is behind.

Thanks for sharing the video. That was inspiring. My oldest two children could read at a high school level by age 7 because we homeschool. There is so much more down time and time to “live” when you homeschool.

The million dollar question. My oldest started college at 14. I got my bachelors when I was 19. My younger daughter wants to start ASAP (she’s 13). They are bright, possibly gifted, but I don’t think that’s all of it- and I don’t think they’re alone. I think plenty of kids could do and want more *meaningful* work, and the shame is that we don’t give it to them.
