Hmm, I have never met anyone ever who hates a stove. ‘Science’ says no such thing. People with an agenda say such silly things. Maybe my kids are the exception but I have six and it seems to work well for all of them so I’m going to keep doing it. They aren’t confused or resentful anymore than I was when I was a kid. Just give me proof. Are our kids becoming less violent and more respectful as we move toward more ‘progressive’ parenting methods? I think I’ll stick with what works.

This is how fears develop, when you associate something that naturally scares you with a particular object, or a person for that matter. Many kids DO resent their parents for spanking them, even the ‘normal’ spankings. Also, hugs and kisses afterwards cause more anxiety. Kids get confused pretty damn quickly.

I don’t care about your Bible or whatever, I care about science. Science says that spanking will do more harm than good.

I may not plan on spanking my future kids as routine punishment, but I don’t think spanking is abuse either.
